60’s Influence fall/winter 2011& How to wear the Look.

The summer is at its peak and the 70’s is predominantly ruling the fashion scene.  Wide legged pants, summer floral prints, maxi skirts are the favorite picks of the season screaming heavy 70’s influence. This trend so is to follow in autumn/winter 2011 with slight variation but another popular trend seen on the runways was the 60’s.

Many designers like Yves saint Laurent, prada, Burberry prorsum, Anna Sui, Blumarine and many others have used the 60’s elements like short skirts, dropped waists, a blaze of black and white, super sweet shifts, Flattering A-Line numbers with an edge, long printed maxis, boxy boy blazers with the rock n roll aviator style, ultra Mod baby doll dresses, triumph of fur and leather trimmings and introducing flared trousers further modifying into the 70’s style. These elements are distinguished and categorized for you to enjoy, one can incorporate these elements to look apart of the 60’s look.

60’s Makeup Influences:

60’s was not only about the various new style inventions but also the various makeup and hair looks that came about at that time by icons like bridgett bardot, twiggy and the famous hair stylist vidal sassoon. This fall beauty inspirations also have been taken from this era.

Be it New york or london or Milan the Sixties trademark of full-on, doe-eyed Bambi lashes or bouffed beehives were seen in various shows all over the world. With simple use of mascara or false eyelashes, eyeliner and back combing one can achieve these looks.

The Mad Men Effect

Thanks to the smash hit cable series ‘Mad Men’ 60’s fashion has enjoyed a huge resurgence in popularity. The polished, ladylike styles, which dominating the fall runway, are based on classic shapes and fabrics. Adding a bold statement pieces such as a pair of vivid platforms, shift dresses, bouffont dresses from the early sixties are a perfect way to address the era.

60’s in interiors

The KORHANI show delivered an extravagant presentation, highlighting a new spin on traditional home fashion.  There was inspiration from fables like red riding hood, graphic body suits in KORHANI original prints, urban warrior and glamorous ‘60s influenced a la Mad Men pieces.

60’s is big this fall 2011 and with all this information on the styles and how to wear them, i am sure you can also follow this trend with ease and look a part of the fashionable crowd.
